Following the recent approval by the Government and the NGB, we are pleased to announce that CONTACT judo for under 18 year olds can finally resume just over a year on from the initial Covid-19 lockdown.
It is important that you are all fully insured. To this end the Amateur Judo Association have agreed that if your judo licence expired in December 2020, then it will automatically be renewed until December 2021 free of charge.
It is important to remember that it’s been a while since many of you have engaged in high intensity training. Therefore, you should start back slowly, gradually working back to full fitness and towards being ready for gradings and competitions, which will start later in the year.

If you’re looking for a judo club in the East Midlands then you have come to the right website. We are The East Midlands Area of The Amateur Judo Association of Great Britain (AJA) which is affiliated to the British Judo Association (BJA), the national governing body for Judo.
As an area, we organise a large number of events such as gradings, championships, training sessions and fun days for players of all ages and abilities.
All clubs on this website are affiliated to the AJA and have fully qualified instructors.

We think Judo is rather special
We believe that most sports are great for kids and adults. However judo has got to be among the best of them all. Maybe we are biased but we think judo, is rather special and it's unlike many sports, as it really is a sport that everyone can do, no matter what size, shape or age you are. Because of the large range of techniques and ways of doing each technique, everyone can find something to suit them.
How good at Judo could I be?
You don't have to be exceptionally talented, or have amazing physical potential ... any dedicated person can become a really good Judoka ... and if they want it badly enough, even a champion.
